IoT Devices : IoT Devices are used in the internet of things.
What is an IoT Device ?
They are computing devices that connect to a network – Wired or Wireless and can transmit and receive data and commands. IoT involves connecting non standard devices such as computers, smartphones or tablets. They are a part of a connected ecosystem where every device can talk to each other and a central command center. They can also be remotely managed and controlled. They are categorized into three main types of IoT Devices:
Consumer IoT Devices - These include Smart Speakers, Smart TVs, Alarm Systems , wearables, smart appliances and more.
Enterprise IoT Devices - These are usually Edge IoT Devices and are designed for businesses or industry. They usually help in increasing efficiencies and reducing costs and help maintain Industrial facilities. Some examples of Industrial IoT Devices are Smart Lighting, Smart Security and Smart Thermostats.
Industrial IoT Devices - These devices are designed to be used in manufacturing facilities or other industrial environments. They can be used to monitor an assembly line or a manufacturing process. They usually lead to increased efficiencies and lower costs by making sure that key processes are running optimally or warn before a process or machinery breaks down. They reduce downtime.
How do IoT Devices Work ?
IoT devices interact with the real world to sense what is happening and transmit that data to a central hub or other connected IoT Devices. IoT Devices can be operated on public or private networks.
IoT Device Networking and Connectivity :
IoT devices can connect over multiple networks and communication protocols. At Choice IoT we provide cellular connectivity, management, and security for IoT Devices. As a requirement all devices must be fully certified by the wireless carrier prior to being used on the network. We have provided you with a list of devices that are fully approved for use on the T-Mobile network. While using a fully certified device is required, it is also extremely beneficial and ensures that your customer is provided with the best possible experience.
Don’t see the device you are using here? Speak to one of our team of experts and they can check for you if it is approved. In addition to pre-certified devices, the Choice IoT team can help guide you through helping you build your own device, including chipset recommendations, as well as working with you to navigate the carrier certification process. No matter the network type, LTE, 5G, CAT M or NB, we can help make sure you make the right selection for your use case. Check back regularly as the approved device list is updated often.
Find the certified IoT module, chipset, or device for your needs.
